We, the members of the All-Hawaiian-Islands Bid Committee for the 61st International Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous, have adopted a mission to create greater unity among AA members and groups in the State of Hawai’i. We will accomplish our mission by focusing on the needs of the growing numbers of young people in AA, and by engaging in the three legacies of Alcoholics Anonymous: recovery, unity and service.

The Hawai’i Bid Committee is an A.A. committee comprised of A.A. members from all over the state, directly responsible to the young alcoholics of Hawai’i Area 17. All alcoholics are welcome to participate. We have united to bring the International Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous, (hereafter referred to as ICYPAA) to the state of Hawai’i in 2019. We will present our bid, consisting of a completed bid package as outlined in the twelve bid requirements set by ICYPAA Advisory Council, plus a bid skit or video, at the 61st ICYPAA, which will be held in Baltimore. ICYPAA Advisory Council will vote, in a live setting, after all Bid Committee presentations have been made, on who will host the 61st ICYPAA. If Hawai’i is selected, we will begin to form a Host Committee. Our Bid Committee will include a Chair and Co-Chair, and subcommittee chairs, who will be responsible for the operations of the committee itself, and completion of the bid requirements by Advisory’s stated deadline. Our committee aims to attract others, including newcomers, who are inspired to get involved in YPAA.
